I believe that music is the most powerful art medium that I can access. It makes me feel, educates me, has led me to action and connects me.

My show is music based, with announcements of what's coming, going and happening. You may hear some live interviews, and the occasional book or music review.

I would like my show to raise awareness. Sometimes it feels as if one voice doesn't really matter. It's my wish that my show can help break through that mindset.

I hope that the music choices make you feel...joy, anger, and all those emotions inbetween, that you may be provoked to speak out...even if it's a view different than my own.

WGDR allows everyone access to ideas, to diversity. It allows us to connect to the world.

I was raised in Montpelier , Vermont and couldn't wait to leave. What a surprise the outside world was. I figured out pretty quickly that I needed to get back to my roots. It took many years, but I remembered my way.

After leaving Vermont, I moved to Chicago. I loved the city and the music. It all kept me sated for awhile, but the tug of woods, moss and wildlife pulled me to Northwest Wisconsin. I moved to one of the most republican counties in America. I felt like a fish out of water.

One day I was cruising the radio dial and heard something very different. WOJB is a community radio station owned and operated by the Lac Courte Oreilles reservation. There, in the heart of everything that was cnoking my spirit was a radio station that sought to include me. I signed up for a program there the next day. A few years later, an internship followed and then I applied for a full time job.

The culture and mindset of community radio saved my mind. Finally, a venue for thinking outside the rigid boundaries of the county I lived in. Community radio gave me back my connection to the wider world.

I moved back to Vermont in 2002 and got a time slot here at WGDR. It's good to be home.
